Privacy Policy for GentuCopy

Overview

GentuCopy ("GentuCopy") is a Chrome browser extension designed to help healthcare professionals extract patient data from Gentu.io patient profile pages and copy it to the clipboard. This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any data whatsoever.

Data Collection and Usage

This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any user or patient data to any server, database, or third party. Specifically:

• No personal data is collected from users
• No patient data is stored in browser storage, local storage, cookies, or any persistent medium
• No data is sent to external servers, analytics services, or third parties
• No network requests are made by the extension at any time
• Clipboard data is automatically cleared after 10 seconds

How the Extension Works

• The extension only operates on *.gentu.io pages when explicitly activated by the user
• Patient data is extracted from the current webpage using DOM selectors
• Extracted data is immediately copied to your local clipboard
• Clipboard contents are automatically cleared after 10 seconds for security
• No data is cached, logged, or retained after the clipboard is cleared

Permissions

The extension requests only the minimum permissions necessary:

• activeTab: Required to access and extract data from the current Gentu.io tab when the user clicks the extension icon. This permission only grants access to the active tab and only when the user explicitly interacts with the extension.

The extension does not request any network, storage, or other sensitive permissions.

Data Processed

When activated by the user, the extension reads the following fields from the currently visible Gentu.io patient profile page:

• Patient name
• Gender
• Date of birth
• Email address
• Phone number
• Address
• Medicare number
• DVA number
• Insurance status

This data is read from the page DOM, formatted according to the user's selected format, copied to the clipboard, and then discarded. The extension retains no copy of this data.

Compliance and Responsibility

This extension is designed to assist healthcare professionals in their workflow. Users are responsible for:

• Ensuring compliance with applicable privacy laws (e.g., Australian Privacy Act, HIPAA, GDPR)
